| Keira Refuses To Work Out |
Keira has said that she refuses to set foot in a gym - and puts her slim figure down to a combination of a grueling work schedule and her love of dancing to songs on the radio. The Atonement star admits she could never subject herself to a punishing work out regime favoured by many stars in a bid to keep fit and slim. The 22-year-old has attempted to get into the spirit and take exercise classes - but the experience put her off for life. She says, "I really like the idea of yoga but I can't do it. It just pisses me off. If anybody tells me to relax then I just tend to tense up. That's why I'm not a yoga girl at all unfortunately. "And gym work is just so boring and repetitive. I'm not a gym person at all. The most exercise I get when I'm not working is when I turn up the radio." Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira Reveals Her Red Carpet Pretence |
Keira has revealed that she lives another life on the red carpet to deal with the immense attention she gets. The Atonement star says that the only way she can handle the horde of photographers at the red carpet is by pretending to be someone else. Knightley takes on the alias of a former iconic beauty to cope with all the attention she gets, which according to her, helps her get through the promos. Keira admitted that she once imagined herself to be voluptuous screen siren Sophia Loren at the Venice Film Festival in Italy. “When I get out of the car I pretend to be someone else. It’s a different person every time, Contactmusic quoted her, as saying. At the Oscars, I was an elegant Edwardian society woman from a painting by John Singer Sargent. For the Venice Film Festival, I was Sophia Loren. For the premiere of Atonement, I was someone else again, but I won’t say who, as it’s embarrassing. It’s my way of getting through it,” Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira Has No Friends |
Being famous will guarantee you dozens of fake backstabbing friends, but no real ones. Keira knows first hand what it feels like not to have any friends, especially in Hollywood. Keira, who claims Hollywood is "not a friendly industry" has tons of acquaintances, but has no real friends here. Not even one! Wen asked if she has friends in the movie business she said: "No it's not a friendly industry. I know a lot of people, and I like most of them, but they are not friends. My best friend is still one I've had since I was 11." Posted by: Lisa |

| Heathcliff heads for new haunts |
Keira Knightley and Lindsay Lohan are among the names on a long list of actresses being considered to play one of the most alluring heroines in English literature. John Maybury has just signed on to direct a new big-screen version of Emily Bronte's Wuthering Heights in the autumn.
"It's about young passion and how it goes horribly wrong," said Maybury, who has just completed The Edge Of Love with Keira and Sienna Miller -both giving their best screen performances to date. "It starts in the Liverpool docks, where we first see Heathcliff as a child, the son of a prostitute. Industrial England was so sordid then, so there's something a bit more rugged and raw. This notion of repressed passion is much sexier than the usual bodice ripper." "I wouldn't count Keira out, but it's whether or not she wants to get back into period costume. Also, there are some exciting actresses coming up who seem to appear these days fully formed." He is a big supporter of the troubled Lohan, though. "I really believe in the girl and she's coming out from the other side of her problems - she just needs to be treated seriously. I don't count her out," he said. Robert Bernstein, from Ecosse, said the important factor would be casting the roles younger. "Heathcliff's usually far too old, and we need an actress who fully understands Catherine. "This is a story of great passion that has never been done properly on screen and now we have a director who really understands that passion." Posted by: Lisa |

| Buy The Dress Off Keira Knightley's Back ... And Support A Charity Too |
Focus Features announced that the green evening dress worn in several romantic sequences by Keira Knightley as Cecilia Tallis in "Atonement," nominated for seven Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Costume Design, will be auctioned off to benefit Variety - The Children's Charity of Southern California. The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation will host the online auction beginning Feb. 1 on the Foundation's Web site www.clothesoffourback.org and ending March 1. Bidding will start at $1,000. The dress being auctioned, taken directly from the production's archives, is one of a handful that were made specifically for Knightley to wear during filming. Multiples were fashioned because of the fragility of the dress. The dress being auctioned off was made under the supervision of, and has been authenticated by, Jacqueline Durran, who is nominated for an Academy Award for her costume design for "Atonement." | Keira's Pliable Balancing Act |
'She walked into the audition room and oozed youthful vitality and confidence much like the character I wanted her to play. She was a delight to work with from start to finish and, from what I know, has remained very grounded, much like she was then," the writer-director Gurinder Chadha reflects on her first encounter with Keira Knightley, in the run-up to Bend It Like Beckham (2002), the film that made Knightley a star ...

| Keira Misses Out Again |
Another awards ceremony, another award for Atonement. The plush Ian McEwan adaptation was last night named best film at the Richard Attenborough film awards, a newly-named event that is voted for by UK regional journalists. For good measure, Atonement also picked up prizes for best film-maker (Joe Wright), best actor (James McAvoy) and screenwriter (Christopher Hampton), further buttressing its status as one of the frontrunners for next month's Oscars. But in the latest snub to the film's star, Keira Knightley missed out on the actress award, which went to Cate Blanchett for Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Initially tipped as an Oscar favourite, Keira failed to pick up an Academy Award nomination. Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira: 'I'm Too Dark For Comedy' |
Keira has revealed that she has changed her mind about trying comedy insisting she's "too dark" to pull it off. The actress recently announced plans to ditch romantic and period dramas for funny flicks after being inspired by Will Ferrel in Blade of Glory. She said: "I always say I've no interest in doing a comedy because I don't watch very many. But actually I think I am lying because the other day I saw Blades of Glory and thought it was brilliant." But the 22-year-old has decided to stick with what she knows best. "I'm too dark in my soul to ever do a comedic role. I'm afraid I'd make a fool of myself." Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira Pays Homage To 60s Model Twiggy |
Keira has recreated the look of 60s model Twiggy for a magazine shoot. The actress, 22, poses in huge false eyelashes and a sleek white dress for Canadian mag Strut. Keira has the ultra-skinny figure that made Twuggy a massive star 40 years ago. Twiggy, now 58, is still in big demand and currently modelling for M&S. However these days she's slightlymore curvy. | Keira Given BAFTA Hope |
Teachers at Keira's former high school are so gutted bu the actress' Oscar snub that they have clubbed together to send her a BAFTAs good luck card. Searching for signatures to drop off at the 22-year-old's parent's house, a teacher at the Teddinton school said: 'We have kindly made a card to send to Keira Knightley, congratulating her on being nominated for a BAFTA for Atonement.' 'We are disappointed that she missed out on an Oscar nomination. I know lots of the staff, who were here when she was a pupil, have very fond memories of her. 'She was really hard working and never made a fuss when she was away filming. She just quietly made up the work and slipped back into school life.' 'Most of the students at Teddington are very proud to be associated with Keira through the school. I am always being asked if I taught her and where she sat.' Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira Fails To Make Oscar Shortlist |
Keira has failed to receive an Oscar nomination for her role in Atonement, even though she picked up recognition at the Baftas and the Golden Globes.
The actress and her co-star in the film, James McAvoy, were both overlooked by the Academy Awards for their parts in the movie based on Ian McEwan's novel. However, 13 year-old co-star Saoirse Ronan, who played the young sister of Knightley's character, has been nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category. Academy Awards for outstanding film achievements of 2007 will be presented on Sunday, February 24, 2008, at the Kodak Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Centre and will be televised live by the ABC Television Network. | Testing Times For Keira And Rupert |
Alls not to well between Keira and her actor boyfriend Rupert Friend. Pals have claimed that Rupert gave an antique white-gold ring to Keira as a symbol of their love, but was left hurt after she told him she would rather have a Chanel ring instead, the brand she advertises. “Rupert bought Keira this antique ring at considerable expense and while not an engagement ring, it was supposed to symbolise their love for one another,” the Daily Express quoted the pals as saying. “But as the face of Chanel, she’s obviously been inundated with items from its fine jewellery collection and has chosen to regularly wear one of its rings instead of the one bought for her by Rupert. “As a result, the word is he’s made his feelings known to Keira. It seems these could be testing times for Keira and Rupert,” the source said. “They’re both young actors with their careers still very much ahead of them, so relationships are never going to be straightforward. Hopefully they’ll work things out,”the source added. Lets hope it all works out. Posted by: Lisa |

| Keira Longs For Bounty Bars In US |
Keira has said that she loves Bounty chocolate bars so much she craves them in the US because they don't sell them there.
Bounty, manufactured by Mars Inc, is a milk chocolate bar with a coconut filling. It is one of the few chocolates that come wrapped in two individual halves. Bounty bars stopped selling in the US since 1990s. The sun.co.uk reports her saying: 'I love a good Bounty. I love the way you get two little bars in a pack so that you get to save one for later. I keep telling people about them over here, but no one has heard of them so I only get to treat myself when I go home to Britain.' Posted by: Lisa |

Ian Lewis, director of Sky Movies, said: "There's no doubt that Keira Knightley's dress in Atonement created a massive stir this year, so it will be interesting to see whether it attains this stand-along iconic status in years to come."
